I say this gift - I will tell about to you - is unique because this is may be one thing you haven’t think yet but it is useful and will make you smile easily. As adult person, you will know fastly what I’ll talk about. When I visit Khan el-Khalili market, many people (I mean the sellers) say to me something called hajar jahannam (they say ‘hagar gahannam’ in their oral). They call me and bid it to me, but I didn’t interested. That is because I can’t use it for right now.

Hajar Jahannam
Hajar jahannam? It is very popular ‘magic stone’ in Egypt, and all of Egyptian know it. It is a magic one because it is useful for man sexual activity, as people say, makes the activity in long duration. So it is like tonic. It is not consumed, but used and applied. You can search about ways to use it in many references.
Hajar jahannam has good existence in Egypt and of course in some Arabic countries, because it was have been heritable tradition within Egyptian from long time ago. So it has high price, yeah. It was called ‘Gagatis’ taken from a name of valley parallel to Jerusalem and then it was turned into Jahannam. People also call it ‘felicity stone’.

I – my self – don’t know definitely how hajar jahannam works, and for how long, but generally every lovepotion (as a potion) has side effects which is related to sexual property. But, don’t you know if Egypt has one another which is more useful than the magical stone? It is very natural and has many uses for our body. It called gargir.

What is gargir?
In origin, it is called ‘jarjir’, but Egyptian speak ‘g’ instead of ‘j’. Gargir is a plant that its leaf has the form like spinach and it has a height about 20 cm. The taste is somewhat bitter but crisp on the tongue. Egyptians (from various circles) do like it, because in addition to cheap, he is also very useful. You will find it easily in every vegetable markets, especially in traditional markets.

Here, some benefits of gargir, like Dr. Saad Mohammed Khafaji (Professor of medicine and medicinal plants, pharmaceutical, Alexandria University) says:
“Arab people knew gargir, and described in ancient medical that its seed is spicy like mustard, its leaf and mature seed are consumed, and by drinking the juice will strengthen sex, so it is useful for human. And it expedites urine, aids digestion when you eat some food with it, and it is a mineral oil for stomach. And also the juice can erase spots on the skin. And eating it is the blood cleanse and can accelerate the blood flow, and it also helps stabilization of teeth, gums strength and its bleeding. It also helps to relieve cold and respiratory desease, because it eradicates the common cold and can be analgesic for the pain of rheumatism and arthritis…”
The researchers say, that “gargir containes mustard metarial plus vitamin C, iodine, sulfur, iron, and they warned that excessive consumption of it is dangerous because it will cause disturbances in digestion and heartburn in the urine and bleeding of pregnant woman”. So it is dangerous for pregnant women, but so useful for others.
You will find hajar jahannam easily in Khan el-Khalili, and find gargir in vegetables markets. When you visit Al-Azhar mosque (beside Khan el-Khalili) you will find the market behind it. If the first is able to be faked but the latter is not.
Gargir is very crisp when you are consuming it in the raw and fresh, either with sandwich, fried nodles, crouton, soup or rice.
Nice experimentation, friends!
